Chateau on the Lake in Branson MO

I've been to Branson MO as a kid and we came here when Colin was a baby as a day trip from my Dads family in Lebanon MO. But I've never seen this side of Branson before. Evan had a breast cancer conference here this weekend and Colin and I got to tag along. We left Little Rock Thursday afternoon and after a beautiful four hour drive thru the Ozark mountain chain,we arrived at the beautiful Chateau on the Lake Resort on Table Rock Lake.
While Evan spent Friday and Saturday in his conference, Colin and I spent time in the resort pool, playing in the kids center and visiting a water park. It was nice to get out of Little rock and be on the lake, it's not the Gulf but with the mountains on the horizon and a pretty sunset it was a nice second.

House tour

For anyone out there that is interested, here's a peak into our house in Little Rock. As you can see, I don't want to put any money into decorating a house that we are only going to be living in for 1 year. All our furniture was left in Ybor when we moved, and all our personal belongings we left in Lutz...so we literally came to Arkansas with clothes, toys, our crockpot and foreman grill ( you know the essentials in life). But, I'm still trying to make it comfortable and homey while we are here. Since this tour, I've added a few pieces of art in the living room. I don't really plan on doing much else. If Evan has a job offer while in fellowship, it'd be great if we can buy a house before he's done and move right into it after fellowship ends. If we do that, we will probably take most of this furniture with us and slowly replace it with furniture we love and fits the style of our new house, but won't have to be rushed into buying everything right away so we can really find furniture we love. Another option is to swap it out for some of our furniture in Ybor or replace some of the furniture in Lutz...we'll see!

Train Table

For months now I've wanted to get Colin a train table. I'm hopeful this will provide hours of creative play for him, because lately all he wants to do is watch cartoons! It of course came in a million pieces and I quickly decided I'd put together the train part while Colin was napping and I'd enlist Evan to put together the table. Twenty minutes into Colin playing with it and so far so good!
